ISSB TEST GUIDELINE

ISSB TEST GUIDELINE

 ISSB TEST

ISSB stand for "Inter Services Selection Board".
As it is clear very clear by its name, ISSB is board designed to select "Future Officers" for Armed Forces of Pakistan, i.e : Pakistan Army , Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy.

ISSB Test is four day stay , in which candidates are put into some different tests, to judge their Physical and Mental Abilities.
Each day has been decided for some specific tests, in this simple explanation, I will only mention the names of the tests, but soon we'll discuss those tests in details.

GUIDELINE

At ISSB, we are looking for alert, motivated candidates who have the potential to complete the long, arduous and extensive training which faces all newly commissioned officers in the service. The Selection Board is looking for many things, such as clear thinking, the ability to remain calm under stress and strain, team skills and willingness to participate. We don’t want you to display rashness or aggression; neither do we want you to be dull or spiritless. Be honest, straightforward and frank. Don’t display over-consciousness, false projection or superficial behavior. Over the years some private institutions and coaching centers have mushroomed in the country to train the candidate for passing ISSB tests. You are advised not to join these for training and guidance. The training imparted in these centers is too restricted and brings in rigidity in thought process.

Appearance

You can tell a lot from a person’s appearance. Show us you have got a sense of personal pride.

 Bio Data Forms :

As its quite clear, you'll have to give your Bio-Data in these forms but there are some tips that will give a good impression to the selectors.

Tips :

1. You should remember your Marks, Percentage(s) and Passing Years of Matriculation/Intermediate or A/O Levels and National Identity Card Number, so you can write that.
(They often say this strictly that no one will check his/her documents to see any of particulars)

2. Write in a good hand writing, things written by you must be clear and easy to read.

3. Remember the date(s) of birth of your sibling(s) and parents because there will be section in those form(s) in which you have to mention the age(s) of your sibling(s).

4. Don't Panic, wait for the instructions by the ISSB Staff , they'll define the exact meaning of each thing asked in those forms, like some candidates don't know the meaning of "SPOUSE" and some other words.

5. Don't write anything unnecessary, like there will be a column, in which you'll have to give names of your relatives, serving Armed Forces, don't write the names of persons you actually don't know, like some people will think that it will give a good impression, but there is no need to do anything like that.
Only write the name(s) of your Uncle(s) i.e Real Brothers of your Father or Mother (If they are serving), or simply leave that page blank.

6. Give them a complete and appropriate answer for everything.
Example :
Father's Occupation : Retired (WRONG)
Father's Occupation : Retired from Pakistan Steel Mills (RIGHT)

Father's Occupation : Businessman (WRONG)
Father's Occupation : Businessman, Owns an Export and Import Business (RIGHT)
